Abstract

The topic of this thesis is the kinship terms used as terms of address in Karonese culture, which aims to find out what are the kinship terms in Karo culture and whether all the kinship terms in Karo culture are used as terms of address. The data collection method used in this paper is a qualitative method with interview techniques with several sources, namely the Karo people and several sources from journals or research on Karo culture. The conclusion from the results of this study is that the Karo culture has kinship terms but the kinship terms in the Karo culture are not always the same as the terms of address and there are some of the kinship terms that cannot be used as terms of address and some of the kinship terms are taboo.
