Abstract

The Rainbow Troops is about the aspect of education that can help children to understand and pay attention to lessons that occur in the school environment and acquire knowledge. The Rainbow Troops shows exemplary teachers and students, intelligence, fighting spirit in educating the nation's children and achieving goals. This research is a library research and uses the mimetic approach proposed by M.H. Abrams. This means that the explanation of art is essentially an imitation of aspects of the universe. This mimesis theory can show the imitation of human life in the world. The discussion focused on aspects of education represented by Ikal, Mahar, Lintang, Sahara, A Kiong, Borek, Syahdan, Kucai, Trapani, Harun and Flo. They show a desire to become educated people even though they lack school facilities, teachers, and money to pay school fees. In closing, Andrea Hirata in his novel The Rainbow Troops describes education in Indonesia, especially the spirit of education for the poor in small rural villages.
