Developing a Song as Media in Writing Descriptive Text for the Seventh Grade Students in SMP Primbana Medan) Technique to Eighth Grade Students of SMP Swasta Budi Murni 2 Medan

This research was aimed to develop a song as the media of writing descriptive text for the seventh grade of students in SMP Primbana Medan. This study was categorized as Research and Development (R & D) study which adapted from Borg and Gall (2003). The method through four phases: conducting need analysis, designing, final product, and developing. The subjects of this research were 60 students in the seventh grade of SMP Primbana Medan which was located in Jl. Jend. Besar A. H. Nasution No. 45, Medan.. The data and data resources were the teacher‟s interview, and students‟ questionnaires result. After getting the last data, the media should be planned to be designed as the students‟ needs. The media were developed and had been implemented by the researcher. The percentages of the media from the validator were 90% that categorized as very good. It can be concluded that song as one of the creative media to attract the students‟ willingness in writing descriptive texts.
